Here at Jefferson, we believe that all students can learn, therefore, we are committed to ensuring that they have equitable access to the resources, staff, and support that help to develop the academic, social-emotional, and 21st-century skills needed to be college and career ready. Thomas Jefferson is dedicated to providing a challenging learning environment for all students, enabling them to become productive, contributing citizens. Our vision is a community school where safety, rigor, and creativity meet to create positive, respectful citizens of the future.

  • Develop a growth mindset in all students so they are willing to take academic risks and persevere through the struggle.
  • Create classroom communities in which students are encouraged to think critically in order to contribute and justify original ideas.
  • Provide students with opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other as they work towards a common goal. 
  • Consistently analyze data to make instructional decisions that ensure the continuous improvement of every student.
  • Teach students how to effectively use technology in order to engage in and access instruction as well as to showcase their learning.
  • Develop students’ empathy, compassion, and respect for others as well as  their ability to effectively communicate their thoughts and feelings.
  • Create a respectful school-wide community in which families are encouraged to be a part of their students’ learning and to be a part of the school’s decision-making processes.
